Jennifer J. Martin - Textile artist and writer

JENNIFER J. MARTIN is a textile artist, photographer and writer.
In textiles, she specializes in home furnishings with an emphasis on table runners using natural fibers, including silk and rayon. Martin dyes all of her fabrics by hand and then embellishes them with printed images, so that each piece is one of a kind. Her work is carried exclusively by 1550 Gallery in Kerrville, Texas, www.1550Gallery.com, and Courtyard Gallery, 210 Esplanade, Cuero, Texas, courtyardgallerytx@sbcglobal.net.
In photography, Martin is drawn to warm bright colors, which is quite apparent in her San Miguel del Allende, Mexico, series.
In writing, Martin’s book, Star Child, A Mother’s Journey Through Grief, was published in December 2006 by iUniverse, a division of Barnes and Noble. The book received two awarded designations from the publisher: Editor’s Choice, for outstanding editorial quality, and Publisher’s Choice, which will place the book in a Barnes and Noble store in San Antonio in the spring of 2007. Her latest book, the novel Heaven’s Stone, will be available in late 2007. A sneak peak at the first chapter is available on the website. Martin’s book and artwork are also available for purchase on her website.

Martin is a member of the Fiber Artists of San Antonio, San Antonio Art League, Southwest School of Art & Craft and the Writers’ League of Texas.
